Mechanism
Peristaltic compression — the body's own pump, on demand.
- 1
Wave initiates
Sequential cells inflate from ankle upward, mimicking the contraction of the calf muscle.
- 2
Venous return accelerates
The advancing pressure wave drives venous blood and lymph cephalad — back toward the heart.
- 3
Refractory rest
Cells deflate and capillary refill resumes before the next wave begins, preserving perfusion.
Why this isn't intermittent pneumatic compression. Traditional IPC sleeves rely on a tethered air pump that inflates a large cuff in cycles — bulky, loud, and immobile. CircuLife uses a mechanical peristaltic actuator embedded in the device itself: no external pump, no air hoses, no cuff. The result is smaller, dramatically quieter, and worn while walking.
What it's used for
Cleared indications.
Post-Operative Recovery
Maintains venous flow during reduced mobility after orthopedic, vascular, or abdominal surgery.
Post-Thrombotic Syndrome
Reduces chronic pain, swelling, and skin changes that follow deep vein thrombosis.
Chronic Venous Insufficiency
Augments the calf-muscle pump in patients with valve incompetence and venous reflux.
Lymphedema
Mobilizes interstitial fluid and supports complete decongestive therapy regimens.
Edema Reduction
Reduces lower-extremity swelling from prolonged sitting, travel, or post-operative recovery.
DVT Prophylaxis
Provides mechanical prophylaxis against deep vein thrombosis for at-risk patients.
Designed for life in motion
A 1-hour-a-day Rx that doesn't require sitting still.
CircuLife is cordless, quiet, and unobtrusive — patients keep living while they treat.

CircuLife vs. Venowave VW5.
CircuLife is functionally equivalent to the Venowave VW5 — same peristaltic mechanism, same calf-worn form factor, same single-button simplicity. CircuCore adds US-pending patents on actuator and control improvements, US-based design, and the included CircuCore360 fulfillment, billing, and patient-communications platform.

Intellectual property
Multiple US patents pending.
CircuCore is investing in actuator geometry and control-system improvements that drive the peristaltic wave more efficiently — refinements aimed at longer battery life, more uniform pressure profiles, and quieter operation. Multiple applications are pending with the US Patent and Trademark Office.
